Busy day in Salem. Traffic bad coming south. Looking forward to a long weekend with no plans other than to mulch a few garden beds and stitch down church windows and use pin board and index cards to map out chapters written thus far for “Blood and Indigo”.
So interesting to see your sketch coming to life. Enjoy your long weekend. from Jenny in Australia
Thanks jenny. Enjoy your winter weekend!
i am headed to monterey and cooler weather … have my blue woven square to work on ( :
they are a nicely portable size, aren’t they? and with these cloth weavings, I have the sense that they will accept AS MUCH stitching as you are willing to apply… so again, good for travel. have a nice time.
I love the openwork napkin edge as a roof line. This is going to be…is already…very pretty.
thanks, Dana. I blew the profile of the steeple, but I’m going to live with it. Also not including the right flank of the church in order to keep design graphic and fitting in 10 inches square.
I really love the heart with checkerboard like shape on it. I may put a very small bit of red in mine, ok?
of course, yes. the checkerboard within the central heart on mine ended up being two shades of blue (silk) instead of the reds. I like how it pops.
That hemstitched roofline reminds me of altar linens that I used to make … perfect for a church. And I too love seeing how it moved from page to cloth.
Really like your red patched heart for Charleston …
Hey. That’s changed again, but it will be red, and it will included that reddish nine patch (I think).
Change is good …
sometimes. sometimes the original thought is the better one!
beautiful!
thanks, Mo. Can’t wait to see your square!!
