Another landscape in progress on the right.
I am surviving a basement being excavated across the street, a patio being installed by back neighbor and the usual round of yard crews and year end celebrations over at the school (accompanied by booming music out in the field). By 5 yesterday, I was fried. Today will be better because kitty-corner neighbor’s hedges are now trimmed (two hours yesterday, electric trimmer).

It’s better, this lunacy, being shared. Now to find some optimism? My friend Maggie offered some… I just don’t believe the stuff I hear about Hillary’s assured win… do you? And that’s only one of the many — uck, never mind. The last photo I saw of you, BTW, you looked great.
The wind! Love your sewn wind images! another dichotomy: sewing down that which is blowing wildly? I take away political overtones… optimism? not great optiism, I am worried, too. I’m forcing myself to be optimistic. The first election I voted in was when back when Ronald Reagan won and I thought “ok, we’re doomed”. It was the start of the corporate takeover of our government, Not that that didn’t happen a few other times throughout history. But people voted, people elected their congressmen and senators. But that first Reagan win felt like “The People” chose money over [what] matters? I was very skeptical then and I am now, well… what am I now? I think I feel that us working stiffs have been “had”, and I am only encouraged by Bernie supporters and Elizabeth Warren. The Trump-ets are p.o.ed for the same reasons I am (minus a love for guns) – but what solution do they seek? The Donald? Which poll numbers to believe for what reason (based on what questions and what demographics?). ugh. But I do think Hillary (with Wall St. in her pocket) will win. All else is bluster. my 2 cents.
The image of a wind-blown house upsets the sense of solidity and security a house usually represents. Now there is nowhere safe, but maybe the house will land and take root in some beautiful but as yet unsuspected place.
I can try that ‘beautiful, unsuspected landing place’ idea on today. See how it feels.
