Fall is rapidly descending on us here in Missoula, MT….snow on tops of mountains, more than 2 inches of rain here the last two days…covering pumpkins and squashes and other tender providers each night to prolong the harvest.
FB is such a drain! much family world-wide and some dear friends….can I manage to keep in close touch if I use the blog that sits awaiting me? I have taken two long breaks, one for three months, and found the time for writing and in my studio to increase…also more bird-watching outings and time…FB is a time devourer. Can I let the connection disappear? Several friends have done just that.

Sounds like your season is a few weeks ahead of ours. Re: FB. There is too much about it that I would miss, too. Maybe I just need to accept that I will always feel ambivalent about it and that even as a ‘user’ I don’t have to check in frequently.

Yes… I dislike FB, too. I’ve been considering quitting, I mean I rarely visit it now.There are so many photos of family and friends I would miss! Then again, are so many photos really necessary? Wouldn’t the time be better spent actually visiting with them in person?
Maybe I need to construct one of those ‘inner circles’ so I can quickly catch up with people I only see on FB. A lot of my FB contacts are friends from blogging. Many on instagram. It gets duplicative on top of everything else.

I hear the same chant now. Lovely photos, the word emptied. Yeah, FB is a mixed blessing, but mainstream media just doesn’t cut it anymore on some issues for me — like the pipeline in ND. I will miss you if you leave. I’m still hearing that priest singing Halleluja in my head, damn!…actually he sort of turns me on in a weird Catholic good girl crush kind of way. But not really.
you remind me, Peggy, that I get a lot of my news through FB, too. And twitter. Not going to cut it out — esp because some of the contacts there, I don’t have anywhere else.
I like the idea of a ‘weird Catholic good girl crush’. Not sure I’ve ever had one of those. I’ll have to think on that. My adoration of this song had a lot to do with my mother, how I know she would have loved it. She was no Catholic. Raised Christian Science, turned a free-wheeling, non-practicing humanist.
Like others before me…I would miss you. FB serves many a purpose for me, I’m there more than anywhere these days. That first pick, what’s with the little face?!
yeah and I like seeing you there. The little stone carving was picked up in the SW by my sister-in-law and given to us as a wedding gift. I love that it can be outside with no damage to its form.
