“The pathologies of love do not necessarily work against relationship. They have a meaningful place, a job to do, and a color to add. . . If we could see our relationship problems as signs that the soul is trying to move, we might give them more positive attention. . .”
From SoulMates, by Thomas Moore
I love how heart is the core of courage
Yes! Here’s an apt Brene Brown quote: “Courage is a heart word. The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.” From her book: I Thought It Was Just Me: Women Reclaiming Power and Courage in a Culture of Shame (which I have not read).
I know that book well….still have a copy buried somewhere.
I keep it handy. Not that I am hard at work on relationship right now.
Another heart, another mass shooting. And Judy Martin saying, “Those of us who make things affirm life” (http://judys-journal.blogspot.com/2018/02/life-affirming.html)
The mid-terms approach … we must vote
Thanks for the link, Liz. It’s impossible to believe how ordinary these school shootings have become. From an article claiming that NRA money has less impact than we think (huh?): “Jimmy Kimmel suggested that the NRA had the GOP’s ‘balls in a money clip.’” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/policy-and-politics/2017/10/5/16430684/nra-congress-money-no
Yesterday leaving for my Ukuladies practice with sweet chocolate gifts .. my heart felt so full. Today my heart aches …. this needs to stop!
I hear you. It occurred to me that the phrase “another school shooting in America” was a redundancy. Where else does his happen?!
