Grey Sunday

Grey and rainy Sundays offer one version of perfect. Crossword puzzles might be involved.

Picked up a tree at the Unitarian Church in West Newton (where Finn lunged and growled at a PERSON) and now boil green beans for lunch.

Not going anywhere else.

What’s your version of a perfect Sunday?

The NYT xword for sure (as you well know) and sitting in the sun on the breezeway (gotta love Texas weather this time of year). Fresh-made granola and leftover birthday cake round it out. Ahhhhh …

Sleeping past 7. Coffee, a warmed up slice of pizza, and the whole Sunday NY Times that I didn’t have to go out for myself. No plans, no commitments, and surprise company that brings treats and leaves in an hour.

Since my Sunday was two days ago and not necessarily my best ever, I’ll just say it was a day at home full of puttering on three projects (one cloth two paper) and cooking (nice Cottage pudding with currants and apples), eating, napping and preparing bill payments to mail Monday. It was good enough.

And now it’s even longer ago than that! It is fun to see some of your holiday preparations going on over there in Manhattan!

this post seems so long ago — but it seems there is a consensus here: Sundays are best spent at home, without too much to accomplish
