Tomorrow, Salem apartment inspection and key hand over. A finality, there.
The house and garage at this end are stuffed in spite of vigorous give aways and throw outs. But it can all wait ’til I get back.
This windowsill photo was taken roughly one year before my sister died just before the movers came. Who knew how little time she had left.
Aside from an eye hemorrhaged enough to warrant an urgent care visit yesterday, everything continues apace. The crocus are up, Euros obtained, tickets to the Villa Borghesi purchased, and a keyboard for tablet ordered (my old lap top is heavy!)
Also: filled the freezer with chicken pot pies, single serve pizzas, and meatballs. Otherwise, in my absence K might subsist on rice cakes and peanut butter (funny. Not funny).
It looks like I’ll be needing a raincoat in Italy and guess what? I DON’T CARE.

“Buon viaggio” – Dee, have a wonderful trip. It comes at such a good, deserving time for you, immerse yourself in the beauty of Italy and enjoy the food . As one of my favorite PBS chefs Lidia Bastianich says, “Tutti a tavola, a mangiare”.
Everyone to the table to eat. I had to look it up. Oh I am very excited about eating. I can just see myself arriving at another famous site, looking around and saying, okay but where can I get some gelato?
Soak it up, Dee! It will be a grand experience and you have earned every morsel twice over maybe more. Can’t wait to check back here to read and see photos of your experience – I mean whenever, maybe not until you get home. xoxo

Those three portraits are wonderful. Eye condition alarming, but if you’re okay, OK–and Oh it will be glorious. Take a pair of Dr. Scholl ‘Jellies’ inserts and don’t wear tight shoes. Big love. and rain or shine, You’ll be just fine.
I’ve never had jellies. My shoes tend to be in the ugly side of comfortable, but I have to go to cvs today anyway so maybe I’ll get a pair.
