Up they come. Glorious. Mysterious. Reliable indicators of spring.
Been in the basement some. Piecing. Cleaning. Sorting. Installed two of my sister’s lamps down there and I love the way they look.
Basting and piecing and vacuuming. Only found two dead mice this time!
Could there be a more beautiful herald of spring than an unfurling fiddelhead? Your piecing looks intriguing and what a great collection of beads and such! You’re back to fabric.
I haven’t been away from fabric but there is a bit of writing avoidance going on this weekend.
Those pieces look lovely. How do you get so much done? Are you combining machine and hand piecing? No raw edges? I am in a trough at the moment, trying to sell the house in a very poor market and I can’t seem to get motivated to stitch. Must listen to Jude’s musings to get me going!
Jude’s musings can be relied upon to get one going … I’ve loved reviewing the “what if” series. Selling a house is pretty consuming, I’m surprised you’re expecting so much of yourself. If I were you I’d want something I could mindlessly stitch while it sat in my lap. And yes, I’ve been combining hand and machine piecing.
Yes, can’t concentrate on anything much and can’t machine because I’d make so much mess getting all those fabrics out. Think I’ll slap some neutrals together and just kantha stitch them.

Love the fern looking all golden ratio-ish. Your houses near one another are a real nice neighborhood. Even if Jude doesn’t “get you going”, she is a soothing comfort for the soul (for me). I like seeing your sister bringing some light into your space. A nice blessing!

there are a lot of critters down there that would love to visit the Bird King’s realm.
Just this morning moved some ferns along with bleeding heart and some other perennials from the old to the new house. Such a perfect time of year for them and me to develop strong roots for abundant growth. I’m feeling Blessed!
it is so reassuring, somehow, to bring some of the plant world from one house to another. I’ve done the same.
