I had been posting these to Flickr but since I found out they’re limiting nonpaying accounts to 1,000 images, I decided it’s time to find another online gallery (thanks for the heads up, Michelle). I have a pro account now but what happens when I STOP paying?
Lately I just get tired when I read about the supposedly six simple steps to do something like this, especially because invariably it seems that I don’t have the pull down menu or tab required to perform the first simple step.
For now: finishing two quilts and listening to a storm roll in.
What an amazing collection of images your sister collected ..you clearly know more about computers than I do cuz I’m not even sure what you’re talking about 🤪.
We’re happily moved in and other than having lots of boxes around I am loving it. The house is really small for the three of us so adjustments are being made. But living in this area and a short block from the lake makes it all worth it .. I hope.

The placement and scroll of the images puts me a narrative state of mind, or I create my own narrative as I scroll down, then scroll up, then scroll down again, noticing some repetition but not enough repetition to make me want to find a pattern (which I appreciate). Its VERY interesting, the images, the selection of shapes and colors and familiarity and yet… makes me smile, makes me relax.
I’m going to venture into having a website and maybe a blog-gette. a blog-ghetto? I’ll let you know if I fall over anything that looks halfway decent. Just met (Actually re-met) a woman who is a website designer and she had some suggestions which I immediately forgot. Square Space was one but, I’ll ask again about the others. She’s a been little fed up with WordPress for a while, still maintains many WordPress sites.
I just recently used up my free space with WordPress (it took 20 years) and had to upgrade to business. Haven’t taken the time to learn, yet, what that offers. WordPress can be glitchy and I use some little work arounds to manage its limitations but it’s been good for me. Will it be a blog about painting?
it must be a day of sorting boxes full of paper, just threw out several years of business records (only have to keep 7 years by law) and have added this box to the other two full boxes that need to go to the paper shredding place where you can watch them on video camera going down the conveyor belt to the giant shredding machine!
I’ve been somewhat alternating between my sister’s papers and my own. Last week we threw out bank records from 2008-09. I threw out all my garden business invoices. Astrology charts I did for people. It was a lot of paper.
I’ve done it with the cloth this morning. Two large bags of commercial prints and batiks off to become baby quilts rather than languish in my closet.
That’s in my list for later this summer too. I’m so tired of tripping on baskets of fabric. Can’t get to the shelves!
I got rid of so much, maybe some things I needed…but I don’t really care! There will be more to go if I am ever well enough and de-stressed enough to do it. I look at these photos and such stories could emerge. I’d have a hard time letting them go! would a website provide the space you need? Or a big fat book of images, The Book of Life. xo
Its getting easier to let them go, the images. At some point, everything is clutter.
Yes, I understand that. Even family heirlooms and photos I once couldn’t imagine parting with, are holding less importance. When I’m gone, no one will care about any of it.
The parade of images is mesmerizing and evocative of….life? It would be hard to let them go, but I know how freeing it is to discard piles of paper, even pretty ones.
