Maybe I started dividing the perennials too soon? Woke to a snow squall and even now at 2:20, it’s sticking.
Cookie dough on trays and the oven won’t heat up. It’s been a little funky for weeks, but totally dysfunctional now.
And, I have four masks left to make. The threads will not stop breaking. Break. Break. Break.
Worst perhaps of all — we ran out of coffee this morning. My peapod order last week didn’t deliver it. Who knows if the order next week will. So I ordered directly from a Peet’s website. Six days ago.
It’s probably a good day for sleep.
We were expecting that snow then they said rain and we just got dunkle or drab. I found a new pattern for masks. I don’t care for the pleats. I tracked down a pattern we’ll see if I can make it work.
Let me know. The pleats are a pain in the ass.

But no coffee? Now THAT’S serious! My daughter’s suggestion when it happened to us was to find a local mom-and-pop coffee shop … good luck (and at least napping will be easier without the caffeine dose)
Rain predicted for later. K scored coffee with a brave run to Shaw’s. Just wiped everything down. Thank god! Need coffee with my Sunday puzzles!
That is a trifecta of EFFit-all. Now you have me thinking about the level of coffee in that seemingly bottomless container of (wretched) Folgers, which is what you get when you send someone else to the store. I never bitched. How could I? The oven part is scarier. How does one get repairs these days. Or worse, replacements??
Weather reports (as opposed to reality) are totally screwed. I think the weatherpeople are working from home with Ouija boards. Today was predicted awful. It did rain and thunder in the night but it’s been glorious all day. End times predicted for tomorrow, weatherwise.
More tornadoes? K has already taken apart the oven. Definitely the igniter. But not yet clear if he can fix or will need to order a replacement. Shipping does seem delayed across the board.
My husband was all for pulling out the oven and checking things out. He also said a new oven could be delivered to driveway and then rolled in yourselves if you have a heavy duty cart. Is it gas or electric- I am thinking igniter equals gas. I would have to leave the house if my husband was tinkering with gas. Electric- hey he set fire to the electric dryer once and got stuck behind it. Good thing I was stronger back in those days. finding the link to the no pleats one. Also found hot pink bias tape in attic. Love that Attic. And for the nose- garden coated wire.
What a funny/not funny story about the dryer. Our oven is gas. K is a chem engineer and competent at mechanical things, Otherwise I might freak out, too. As for your attic, I woke up thinking about it this morning! How I’d like to poke around in it!

Aargh!! Snow in April, no baking, no making and no coffee. Some days are only good for hibernation. I hope the sun (both literal and metaphorical) will come out soon.
Sun today and coffee procured yesterday. Husband made a grocery run. First in over a month.
I woke up this morning thinking more productively how you might work around your oven issues … we recently purchased a Cuisinart toaster oven/convection/air fryer. It was on sale at Amazon and has proved so versatile that I rarely use my large oven any more. I will say the temperature control is a bit dodgy, but I’ve made muffins, phenomenal popovers (in mini muffin pans), reheated leftovers, baked enchiladasagnas, and even baked mini-batches of cookies. Hope this info is helpful … or better yet, that your oven recovers and it proves to be unnecessary.
Hmmm. Maybe we should update our pretty humdrum toaster oven that run too hot. Did manage to bake the cookies in it, tho. Six minutes, then flip and two minutes more. A bit of a pain but they came out really delicious. K has ordered a new igniter.
