Incidental creating

It’s probably fair to say that we all incorporate mistakes now and then: the patchwork inserted upside down generating new ideas; the over-exuberant trim of a nearly finished piece requiring additional edging.

Last night a little vertical landscape quilt that I was about to finish was left on the coffee table during dinner and got shoved around and folded over. Voila! The quilt that I’d only ever felt lukewarm about suddenly excited me.

I lined it with a scrap of a batik shirt from Indonesia. I was able to line up the shirt pocket to serve as inner pocket for the pouch.

The indigo sky and Deb Lacativa moon have a Hazel feel to them, but the woven section with the grey/black/white slashes is decidedly mine.
