Ah Dee, your writing shines just as brightly this time around! Plus, you’ve saved me the search of finding this piece to re-read again. I’ve thought of it so many times. Thanks to you, I’m still being saved from sleepless nights by the Hallmark Universe! Deep bow in gratitude.

You’d be amazed (perhaps) at how many I don’t get through.

My new favorite (as for real favorite) : LoveHard. Came out last year. One person thinks Love Actually is the best Christmas movie, the other Die Hard. Involves catfishing, a competitive, spiteful sibling, and the lesson about how beauty is on the inside.

My other favorite, BTW, is Last Holiday with Queen Latifah. I watch it every year.

I just left a comment on your 2020 post, which had me rolling my eyes all over again (in the best way) … my all-time Christmas favorite is the Muppets and John Denver TV special that aired in 1979

Never have watched any Hallmark Christmas movies but my favorites are Charlie Brown Christmas and Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas, for children but oh so special for this adult…In 1977, Jim Henson adapted the children’s book of Emmet Otter, the year my girls were 7. We watched this every year until they went to college.

As a wonderful surprise in 2017, my daughter Erika had Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas waiting for us as our Thanksgiving treat. Fire in the fireplace, eggnog and pie and we were off, singing all of the songs…rolicking through “Barbecue” and dabbing at our eyes when the song, ” In Our World”, came on. Shelley managed to hold it together but Erika and I were gonners, crying our eyes out…watching us, iur 8 yr old grand kids rolled their eyes but in the end, they thought Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas was good, especially because it was something that their Mom and Auntie watched when they were their age. Here is the In Our World Song and if you want to feel silly but happy,
I have also included the link for “Bar B Que.”

“Barbeque fixes my soul!” Yes! Maybe I’ll gather up people’s favorites here and do a new post.

Guess I could not capture the first video of “In Our World: , Emmet’s Mom sings of having joy and more than we realize, even when we have trials and tribulations.

It might be a posting issue. WP won’t let you leave more than one link in a comment. I can track it down though.

It’s corny and predictable too but in a refreshing way.
