Good news

In spite of everything, there is still the vote. There’s no real evidence that gerrymandering or Russian attacks can thwart a major voter turnout.

We cannot expect Mueller to fix things. We cannot rely on impeachment. But we sure can vote.

Vote. Vote. Vote.

(That’s the gist of a Will Stenberg piece on FB this morning).

And protest. MoveOn has asked us to wear white on Saturday.

And now, major machinery is grinding at my neighbor’s so I’m heading into the Center for breakfast.

I’ll be in your neighborhood on Saturday and I’m hoping to bring part of our family get together to the event. Please send any guidelines/locations/info you have?

The rally starts at 11 at City Hall Plaza (closest T stop on green line:Government Center ) and then marches to Boston Common at 12:30. If you want to park at my house and walk to T stop from here, you’re welcome to. But maybe you’re coming from Logan? Anyway let’s be in touch day of by text.

I heard there was a poll that showed 1 in 5 Americans have participated in protests/rallies/marches in the past two years, so I sought out a credible source and found this: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/national/wp/2018/04/06/feature/in-reaction-to-trump-millions-of-americans-are-joining-protests-and-getting-political/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.554f5a38f74d

Of those who are rallying, 1 in 5 have never before protested … and the protestors are from both sides of the aisle, so to speak. It’s an interesting read, with some eye-opening graphics.

We have a choice of San Antonio at 10 on Saturday or Austin at noon … in Texas heat. Wearing white …

Well that article could’ve been about me. I’ve been to four protests in the last year. More than all previous years combined (I was too young to be part of the anti war movement in the 70’s).

There’s an idea. Course Dems in effect would’ve had a say were McConnell not so nakedly power hungry and a shameless cheat.
