Adding paths to bring the design forward. Roofed one house in teal so it didn’t disappear quite so much. Tree branches were found, cut, and stitched on.
After a string of beautiful days, today is cloudy. It poured most of the night.
Short trips and writing retreats are booked and dog care lined up. I’m on it!
Also, I just submitted a section of the novel to a ‘first chapter contest’. It’s not that I expect to win, it’s that I expect myself to keep doing this. Finishing and submitting. Wheee!
After a spell of floating from room to room downstairs, I’m back in the upstairs study. It’s good. My books are here. Most of my notes. And lots of light.

good luck with the first chapter contest and love that mossy teal roof on your house cloth. Did you recommend ‘There There’ by Tommy Orange? such a brilliant, hard edged book that left me feeling surprisingly uplifted by the power of the human spirit in the end
I did, but with reservations (no pun intended). It’s a story with such rapid viewpoint changes at the climax that I thought it would make a better movie. I learned a lot reading it, though, and look forward to more work by the author.

“Our house is a very, very fine house”…that’s what popped into my head. I really like the paths for the depth and invitation they provide. “Is anybody home?” I call out! I love that you have a book-filled, light-filled space to work. Best of luck with the 1st chapter 🙂 And I have to add, that I have no idea what is in that glass, but I was right away thinking about the Jr High lesson about advertisers hiding naked women in whiskey ads to suggest a purchase! Subliminally convincing at its best, eh?
