Another weirdly warm day

Yesterday: balmy. Today: HOT. It is disorienting. I feel greasy and ready to wear wool. But opening the windows is always nice! Today I’ve grocery shopped and caught up a little on blogs I enjoy. I can’t avoid my pile of papers much longer, alas.

it’s the butterfly effect, hot in the northern hemisphere when it should be getting chilly & so cold here in the Land Down Under, snow in the Blue Mountains along with the worst storm in 100 years here in Sydney yesterday, wearing scarves, jackets and wooly socks to stay warm, it’s spring and was 93 degrees just ten days ago!
    Love that last photo!

really nice photos, Dee. Coincidentally we went to hear Peter Singer speaking with Dale Jamieson about Jamieson’s new book: Reason in a Dark Time: Why the Struggle for Climate Change Failed and What It Means for Our Future (should be underlined I know). He’s saying we’ve failed to act in time and now our job is to adapt. Certainly feels true. Not that we should stop trying, but for the next 1000 years, life is simply going be adaptive.

Scary thought. I heard something on npr recently tho that said taking the “adaptation” instead of correction route is a kind of cop out and one that will favor people of means. But I suppose if you think it’s too late?
