Morning light, notes

Eastern light on web

I’m still waking before six. I call it “jet bounce” instead of jet lag (of course I’m dead at 4:00 pm).

Peonies offer their glory
Which do you prefer — pink or white?
Looking up at Uffizi

Heard from South Carolina Historical Society: because I only quote from Eliza’s published letters, I don’t need their permission. I actually didn’t think I needed permission, but it’s good to be diligent.

Pink rhodie past its peak

I have PT this morning and will pick up a few groceries while I’m over there. I hope getting a few tasty ingredients will ease me out of this I can’t be bothered with dinner prep phase. I go through these now and again — often associated with extreme heat. This time, it’s also clear that I need to up my vegetarian game.

Anyone have a good recipe for lentil burgers? Other meatless entree favorites?

My ravioli cutters arrived! Now to find some fine flour.

Have a great day everyone!

PS sssssh. Don’t tell anyone. I’m on the back patio and (other than route 9 traffic) it’s actually quiet right now.

I’ll never tire of my fascination with spiderwebs. I have never had a lentil burger, but my grandson used to make Salmon burgers, which were really good. It’s funny how just like seasons change what we wear but also what we eat.

Happy for you it is quiet. I won’t say anything about it though. My peonies did very little this year. Yours are lovely.
I never make my own veggie burgers anymore because I always end up with disasters. That was in the 80’s. Perhaps things have changed? Let us know!
Did I tell you, since my docs have not written me an Rx since my OT ended – for what I consider desperately dangerous weakness all over – I’m paying a trainer. I am making good progress but really can’t afford it.
I hope you are feeling tons better??
    Interest about Eliza. Phew, eh?
    Love

What a beautiful web! Reminded me that I may have one in my car, if the spider is still there. haha
Both Peonies are so filled with layered beauty. Your photos are gorgeous. Your garden is gorgeous! I’m glad you are having some quiet time to enjoy. We’ve had your kind of noise around here lately…leaf blowers and other garden machines, big booming trash trucks (how often do they need to come?!), trucks that sit there FOREVER with their back-up beeping going off. Grrr…
I think I already did this, but again your garden reminded me of this channel, which is filled with amazing outdoor spaces.

As for food, I’ve often been less hungry in the hot summer months, even as a kid. I just roll with it.
The photo of Uffizi is really something! I would not want him glaring down at me!
Lastly, glad you’re having good PT. J. has enjoyed his so far. Mine is very “conservative” & still at home, on my own until I actually heal.
    Enjoy it all 🙂

Your welcome. Being from Eastern Washington dry land farmers grow lentils, peas, and garbanzo beans along with wheat and barley. It is indeed a good resource.
