East to west coast

We arrived (6/11/25) without incident.

Flight was far from full. Just to glance at nearest seats? Seven out of 12 empty. It meant Ken and I each got a row to ourselves (we always reserve adjacent aisle seats). Kinda nice but what does it mean and why did the flight attendant repeatedly announce that the flight was full when it so clearly was not? Same: flying to Denver last month.

Took a quick dip in the unheated pool. Key word: quick.

Things seem good here. In other years, I’ve had a Honda to drive and now only my brother’s truck is available. Even though I have historically enjoyed tooling down the hill to a Sprouts Market, I used instacart yesterday. Stuff arrived within two hours.

For dinner we had: Caesar salad and an onion tart. Cherries for dessert.

When the skyline of LA came into view on the way from the airport, I noted out loud that it didn’t seem to be on fire. Our uber driver laughed.

During the flight, after finishing William Kent Kreuger’s novel, Ordinary Grace (quick review: Leave It to Beaver with dead bodies), I spent a lot of time deleting pics. Also made a few collages.

Forgive my choppy post. I’m tired.

Welcome back to California, Dee. Surely you somehow just missed the burning vehicles? 😉

Dee~ Welcome to SoCal. Ugh. Do you have Sprouts near home? We shop there a lot, like it.
Enjoy your time with your brother etc.

I would love to read your reviews on Goodreads but I cannot seem to find you on there. What is your handle? I am always looking for something good to read!

I’m not that active there and my desire to be positive about other writers’ works has left me a little tongue-tied. But you can get a sense of what I’ve been reading. I’m listed as Dee Mallon as far as I can tell? Let me know.
