Snow on New Year’s Day

Hello! Happy New Year. Woke to snowfall but the sun’s out now. In the intervening hours I spent a lot of time visiting various people’s summations of 2025 (my favorite might be Jeff Tiedrich), reading a fair amount about Jack Smith’s testimony before Congress, and oohing and aahing at all the pictures of Aloka, the perky dog accompanying the Buddhist Peace Walkers.

This facade flanks the grocery store parking lot. Sniffling through my second cold in a month (before the last one, I can’t remember when I had a cold last). Grateful it’s not the flu and also resolved to resume mask-wearing. I let it go a month or so ago.

That’s potato leek soup. Yesterday I made chicken noodle soup. Ken’s out shoveling and I’m ready to take a nap. Tiiii-yeeerd. No dog walk for me today.

Dee~ happy New Year to all of you. I love Finney-Boy’s snow whiskers! Brrr….stay cozy and in self care mode. Sorry about two colds, yuc. I’m that odd gal that wears her mask like it’s 2020 😉.

PS I also meant to say that I’ve watched so many of the Monk’s videos and news reports (fascinating how the ‘different channels’ report on it – so just really don’t get it)…the love, compassion, peacefulness and inspiration are so needed and appreciated these days. xo

Happy new year to you too! This batch I used half a bird so it had more flavor than when I use a carcass (pretty much picked clean) from out of the fridge.
