Home. Dinner in front of the TV. British forensic show — what else?
Finn squeaked for twenty minutes after our arrival. It’s the only time he ever makes that sound.
Finn is BeeBee, sometimes BeeBaw. Don’t ask me why.

For some reason, traveling from Logan and being home are hard. I don’t want it to get dark.

(((Dee))) ~ Aw, he missed you guys!! Which British forensic show did you watch? Have you ever watched Brokenwood Mysteries? We love it.
I’m sorry being home feels hard, but I think I do understand why. Take extra-special good care of you.
xo
I think we’ve watched most of the 12 seasons of the Brokenwood Mysteries. Tonight it’s Silent Witness. There are 29 seasons!! We jumped in at season 8 but I think we’ve watched the rest. Yikes!
Dee~ Ah thanks for a new title. I’m always looking for free on you tube things to watch. I wish we could see all of Brokenwood, but there is not that much on you tube. A bunch were taken down. We love it. We’ve watch so much (most?) of Midsomer Murders. Really liked that one too.
Yeah. Brokenwood is kind of the Australian Midsummer, isn’t it? There are a bunch of really good Australian shows. Give me a minute and I’ll name them.
And soul-o is PeaPod, sometimes PPP. Don’t ask.
Maybe tomorrow will be easier.
Jude
PeaPod. I love it. Is Loosey still around?
I am happy you’re home .. everything is going to be hard .. it’s just too soon for it not to be. Hopefully you’ll be tired enough to get a good night sleep.
Thanks Tina. You are right. The time change will likely keep us up late for a few nights. But that’s okay, we can sleep in the mornings.
I agree, Tina … it’s all too soon
I do remember that work was my salvation after losing my mom … having someplace to go and lose myself in busy-ness helped somehow.
Nights were the worst.
Dee, I’m glad you have Finn … may long walks with him help tire your body into deep sleep.
Peace, Liz A
I go back and forth about the lack of occupation. I can see how the distraction would help. A lot. But I’m so grateful that we’re retired too and have the luxury of time.
The alt names here are out of hand. The four sometimes feel like a dozen. Pretty Girl gives me a look of disgust. Bongus runs off with an entire roll of paper towels to shred. Baby girl giggles and hides and Mr.BEEE assaults his plush pig then takes dirty laundry and leaves it all over the house.
Funny. Sounds like a good start to a children’s book!
For sure that would be a picture book I would love to read out loud!

The other day as I was doom scrolling I came across an article about grief that made me think of you and your loss of Danny. It was about the loss of a child and how it comes with trauma that other losses do not come with. I did not know this but it made so much sense to me.
I am glad you were able to get away for a short while anyway.
We were reminded of Danny a lot at my brother’s because the last time we were there (December 2025), so was Danny. But it was great to see Cary and to go to the beach and a street fair in Santa Monica
Was the article a New Yorker piece? About the loss of a daughter. I keep meaning to read it.
I can’t remember. I will see if I can find it for you. I may have bookmarked it.
