This thing.
It used to be another thing.
After the photo above was taken, I applied more scraps and also quilted it. Didn’t help.
It’s getting more interesting but instead of adding the hoped for texture and depth at the bottom, the woven strips are distracting. That almost never happens.
Maybe with enough fiddling the piece will get to a point where it looks like something. I don’t know.
I do know that I’ll be machine-anchoring the cut-up quilt bits because those areas are at least four maybe five layers of fabric thick, plus backing and batting. I respect my fingers too much to put myself through that!
Meanwhile, another baby blanket is ready to be given away.

I like the purple weave on the bottom .. and the baby quilt turned out really sweet. You have so many fun fabrics!
I really do have some amazing prints in my bins. One of those lilac horizontal strips was cut from a Betsy Johnson dress I wore to my sister-law’s wedding!
Dee~ Wowzie! That baby blanket is gorgeous! It is so light and pretty and yet, still has your signature all over it!
While the weaving did draw my eye in, it only had me pause there momentarily before roaming all over again. I think this is okay, but you may have other ideas about where you want the focus to be. I like the colors, which seem a bit different for you. There is a wild beauty there.
