Holiday Monday ‘26

In my dream, I ask Katie Phang, “Are you a member of The Reasonable Doubt Club?” She just smiles.

It rained all night.

There’s a clicking noise in my left ear, which reminds me of an insect sound and yes, I watched The Twilight Zone as a kid. (Google: the earwig episode).

I finished binding this pale yellow piece yesterday. This one really captures me somehow. I like the broad surround. I like the repeating moons. I like the ochre crosses. It is quilted to within an inch of its life.

Please find: one spiritcloth indigo moon, one silk moon that formerly lined a skirt, one moon dyed by I don’t know who, indigo cloth from my adventures, swatches from six former garments (not counting the silk moon up top).

Thanks Hazel. A spacious feeling. Yes, that translates to serenity and maybe even happiness. Of course it needs pointing out that I composed this a long time ago. And it shows.

Dee~ I really like the colors of this piece. It has a lightness to it that is not just the color choices. The wide space surrounding draws my focus to both that and then to the inner world…and reminds me of my need of/love of big space and sky. Nice.

We are cloudy and cooler. Got our bit of rain the other night – not enough yet, but what it is. The flooding and ocean madness has enough water for all. Enjoying the cooler temps.

This piece, what a beauty! I love the whole thing. Something I “found” in the one of the spaces was as a mask – but not necessarily to everyone, which makes it intriguing. And really, well, geeze I think all the line work in this piece is so elegant, balanced with the subdued pallet and other heavier color work. You always do that – your pieces are all painterly! The swoop of the roof! tells a tale. The tower, to the great spirits of love and fear and maybe betrayal ?-I’m making this up as I go (and I’m signing off) AND gives me a sort of foreboding sense of peace. 🙂
