ah Astilbe, a favourite plant but it it prefers a more temperate climate, have grown it here in Sydney but it goes to plant heaven with our searingly hot summers.
even in a bog garden the hot drying winds of summer just fry them here, we get days where the temperatures can soar to over 115 degrees Fahrenheit, Hellebores and Hostas sort of cope but don’t flower well, semi tropical things work better, we don’t get any frost.
Lucky dog!
