Been living as if in a cocoon. The AC on. The surreal RNC. The pumped up DNC. Some watched live, some delayed. Constant watering of the garden and things wilting anyhow. Dog walks in heat blasted air, crossing from one side of the street to the other trying to afford poor Finn’s paws the most shadowed route. Writing daily.
The heat’s broken and maybe this thick silence too.
A couple lunches out and one trip to the Museum of Fine Arts. I won’t tell you how many things fucked up while K. was in Korea (think: wiring and plumbing) or all the things I am worrying about. Let me just say, I am glad to have this body and this life.
So, less heat then? I hope so! I really love seeing the greenery that is your yard. Such a restful view. Hi Finney! Love your brown eyes boy!
Hope your air quality has improved. We finally could open the house today. I’m keeping perennials and shrubs alive but not the grass. And Finn is my boy. We call him Finney by the way because of you!
The air quality is worse today. All the locals are posting on FB! Turns out, we’re getting smoke from the Big Sur fire too, as if it wasn’t bad enough! Oy
J. loves your Finney too. I show him each picture! he always says it looks like he was just up to some mischief! Something about those eyes. I’ve got a Finn in my class too.
Some wonderful photographs here today. Heat abated here too and I know just what you mean about being cocooned. It’s worse than cabin fever.
Hi Michelle. The AC makes me feel cut off from the world. But at some point I just can’t take the humidity. Glad you made it through in NYC.

Thank you Mo. You are a true healer in this world and you knew these words would be a salve to a struggling soul. I can’t tell you how much they and you mean to me.
Yeah, Dee, I thought of you so much when I read the Estes letter on Mo’s link. Your soul is on deck and an inspiration to me. I’m glad the heat is abating and hope your domestic woes are mending.
And this is why I blog. To be held up. To hear words that inspire me to keep going. π Dana.
am glad your husband is back to support you! I can get into a panic when ‘things’ suddenly derail
your mouse is very cute indeed!
It’s like the computer knows he’s gone. I swear to god! And he’s in Asia again now. I never used to announce his absences until he was back, but I can say that with a killer dog in the house! Plus my older son is home.
