Playing Card Symmetry

At last, there’s enough quilting on this piece to consider that step done. Now — how to finish? It’s a little on the big side for me — maybe 18″ wide? Back when I composed this — two years ago — I had considered placing a reverse house below the horizon line, not unlike a playing card — one knave’s head down, the other up. Didn’t stick with that idea, but now I find myself wanting at least a moon below. I can consider the idea with the app PicFrame.

It’s more interesting with two moons, don’t you think?

PS I am under the weather with a cold or flu, so forgive my delay in getting to some of your blogs. My cheeks hurt. My eyes feel furry. My nose is stuffed. This is the first congestion I’ve experienced since I started using a Netti pot about four years ago. A pretty good run, I’d say.

You are such a good soup maker, I drool whenever I see photos of your soup so hopefully you have some chicken soup in your freezer, good for what ails you. Feel better soon; I spent most of Jan. dealing with flu etc. and it got to be so boring but I simply couldn’t find my energy…felt like a slug but slowly, I came back as you will too.

Sorry to hear you were under the weather for so long. I made beef with barley soup today but i didn’t have the appetite to eat it.

oh yes! Two moons. And wasn’t it January that had two moons? The Wolf Moon and the Blue Moon. February no full moon… right? moons are in order. Lovely piece.

I don’t know when you plan to travel but Thursday into Friday a big storm is on the horizon. If you need anything get it tomorrow just to be safe. May you be well.

    Lovely work.

My feeling exactly. I used a pale purple silk so it looks more like a puddle. Oh well. Cold is moving through my head. So exhausted. Thank go for good books and heating pads!

Love your description of your symptoms even as I regret your having them … be well soon

And glad you you went with two moons … it’s a great piece. Gotta add that playing card symmetry is also to be found in crosswords … I take my NYT black (pen)

Thanks, Liz. I do my puzzle in pen too — but blue! There must be a technical term — reverse radical symmetry or something?
