Framing, flaming, and a cold

I picked six and took them to the framers. Major sticker shock. That was yesterday.

Earlier in the week, I reserved two seats for the rally in Waco tonight. As Doug Jones of Alabama said, “Trump is the master of dog whistles, whether it is his rhetoric or photo ops. Waco is a wonderful city, but for the far-right fringe that Trump caters to, an appearance by Trump can be a call to arms. Not action—arms.”

(From Joyce Vance’s Civil Discourse newsletter).

That’s the extent of my political activism of late.

I have had a cold! The first in perhaps seven years. I should count myself lucky but it’s been a miserable couple of days.

I keep trying to get Don to learn how to make frames … and to his credit, he has made a couple using a log cabin type of construction … we’ve also had good luck with Ampersand floating frames

and head colds … yuck … hope you beat the usual 7 days or a week …

Ken has all the saws necessary to learn. Maybe when he retires. And, after three days I am still tired, but feeling a lot better.

Oh so sorry for your cold! I’ve heard there is are some pretty bad ones going around ☹️
Framing has always been such a costly thing…more than it seems it should be. I can’t imagine the prices now, I haven’t framed anything in years.

(((Dee))) good to hear your feeling better! Framing is so expensive especially with non reflective glass but I do treasure how it focuses & expands the idea of each work. Saying that I am so looking forward to owning my own house so I can just pin what I want to the walls & move them around!

Good point about focus and expansion and since these are color copies of collages made using magazine cutouts in the main they can use a little elevation.

And YeAH! To having your own walls. It’s so nice to not have to worry about nail holes. Or I mean, to worry about them only as my problem.
