We drove downtown to a huge annual craft fair. SoWa, it’s called. It was mobbed and fun and we snagged a few great gifts.
My phone had no audio for the drive in. Very frustrating. I like to use google maps with the voice calling out directions. Volume up? Yes. Radio on (does it matter?) Yes. Silent mode off? Yes. Went over to Instagram (where my usual experience is sound bursting out when I don’t want it to) and could get no audio there either. Phone off. Phone back on. Nada.
There’s a Genius Bar within walking distance of here. But am I up for a heaping dose of condescension? Also, sometimes you can simply wait a glitch out. I’m waiting for now.
At least today cleared up one technological mystery. A number of vendors tried to tap my credit card on their mechanism and failed, making it now clear that it’s NOT ME. My card won’t allow it.

We are due for two days of rain and flood watches have been issued west of here. For now the temperatures have been lovely for walking.

I’ll end with baking news. I have pin wheel cookie dough in the fridge. Yippee! And I got pistachios to make some biscotti.

I’m bad at commenting these days but have to tell you it’s probably the solar flairs effing with your phone, cards, etc. my Mapquest only works when I have my car set to iPod. Otherwise nothing. Flairs or no flairs.
Love the recent pics of your trip down south. Powerful stuff. Always great poems too.
Had no idea about solar flares. Things have been inexplicably glitchy more than usual. But update on sound: home now on couch got sound both in Insta and google maps. Next time I’ll try using the Bluetooth connection in the car. That might work.
Big flooding coming here too. I should bake some cookies.
So far it looks like the flooding will miss us. Fingers crossed. But two rainy days will be great for reading and baking!
Haven’t been to an art fair in forever! Glad yours was fun. Enjoy the rain & cookies 🙂
We were two of four people masked!
I don’t thing it’s your phone. Mine is android and I was having the same problem with the map voice not coming through the car speakers, even though the music, also from the phone, was working fine. So Google Maps was having the issue.
