Eight haiku from June. It was a month of blazing heat, doctors’ appointments, editing and book design, and a trip to Northern California

“Scootch,” “it’s” possessive,
too many “beautifuls.” Red

Anchovy paste, salt,
lemon juice, chocolate. But
ratatouille’s bland?

Low-decibel leaf
blowers the norm after years

“All we are left with

The rain, it falls now.
Drops make Virginia Creeper
dance. Where are my socks?

Is this what dying
is like? Lying down, hearing
a clock tick, traffic.

Burdock grows tall, proud.
Sun warms the parking lot and
the air moves sweet, cool.

I was intrigued by the old photo of Jenner, CA…a place I’d never heard of!
I hope you had a nice wedding trip and that appointments slow down for July.
I think Bodega Bay might be better known? The wedding week was really nice. They have such great friends and it was small so you could really talk to people.
Terrific photos. The tranquility of the first is deep. When I lived in San Francisco I sometimes went up to Jenner, so beautiful. Now I live in truly Northern California. 😉 I’m glad it was a good time for you.
It was really windy and cool the entire time. Meanwhile, inland temps going into triple digit and wildfires. The rock formations near where we were really were wonderful to look at. The sound of the surf. Everything.
I especially appreciate your “found” haiku in the words of Adam Schiff …
It’s funny how that happens sometimes.
