On the way home.
My brother and I got our Covid boosters this week. And flu shots. He got an RSV and I didn’t, not sure why. My arm is still a little sore but otherwise I’m okay. The same for him.
I was very proud of myself — operating the electric chair to the driveway, negotiating doors and handicap parking, pacing myself as spotter. Proud of him too. People were incredibly nice (except for the cold bitch at pharmacy consultation). Noticeably nice. Stepping aside. Smiling.
My California moment:
Cashier says, “That’ll be $40.”
I look at my three items and then look at him. “There’s no way I have $40 worth of merchandise here.”
Handing me my receipt, “Taxes.”
Taking the receipt, “Ah! California.”
Also California: the endless bounty of bougainvillea.
Starting from the end…ah bougainvillea…one of our favorites! Taxes, prices…everything too much IMHO. I am glad folks were nice, it makes such a difference, doesn’t it? I’ve been craving a small town, where people know people and are nice. ha. I got my flu (not due for covid yet) and Osteo shot on the same day, same arm. I had a skin/topical reaction to the flu shot – a first for me. But, no other reactions from either. Not sure what I am supposed to be seeing in the ‘on the way home’ pic. Mmm? That is a pretty campus. We were just talking about how much we loved being on college campuses years passed. We talked about the open, central area of campuses we’ve known. There is just something that feels so good about them (even if I am not the best student). I kinda feel like Lila! First walk in 10 days (been sick), but am glad I went.
Sorry you’ve been under the weather. Folks being nice makes all the difference. I mean this is LA, not a small town at all but people still exhibit humanity. Ken and I often walk in the Wellesley College campus, also pretty but in a much different way.
