Clouds

Potstickers for dinner but no sesame oil in the house? As good a reason as any for a field trip to HMart. This time we went to the one in Brookline. Good to get out of the house and wander the aisles of bok choy, kimchi, and desiccated anchovies and dodge other shoppers.

Driving home, the sky mimicked some additions I’m considering to the latest Village Quilt. I’m not going for doom and gloom, but I am interested in interrupting that yellow/purple line.

I was discharged from home PT today. Farewell Harriett of the eight lanyards (sunglasses, keys, name tag, pocketbook) — okay, maybe only three. She assigned me three new exercises and rode off in her bright red Kia.

Those assemblages are on the kitchen table right now and just look at me walking from room to room without even a cane!

I made an Apple book yesterday and the picture on the right, below, really grabbed me.

And here are a couple more.

So I’ll be holding a sign over on the T-tracks bridge in town on April 5. I’m not up for a trek to Boston Common yet. Every little action counts.

Very big spontaneous protests have been taking place in Somerville and elsewhere near here to protest the abduction of Tufts student, Rumeysa Öztürk.

(Here’s something telling and I hope in a good way — I misspelled her first name and autocorrect fixed it. Autocorrect added the marks to her last name too).

Given where we find ourselves, maybe dark clouds are a fitting mood.

Wow- good for you! J’s doctor had him using the cane for maybe a bit longer than needed, as a signal to others in public to give him some space. But, he did both hips. Now he just likes it on our walks in Nature – protection 😉
I’m glad you are doing so well.
In the third cloth pics, I really like the big fish and the swirly circle on the light blue clouds – so much movement. I had my eye on the clouds a lot today to – big sky, big puffy, floating clouds. So amazing.
There is something quite compelling about the big pic of you two. The way the light falls across your face, the expressions you wear. A commentary on on a long relationship.
    (((hugs)))

Love those tulips and your picture book Full of treasured memories. Here we have important voting next week and can you believe Elon is here paying people a hundred $’s even has paid one guy a million who we’re already seeing in dozens of commercials supporting Schimil .. told my family that if Schimil wins we’ll officially be a red state …. this is crazy. Looks like we’re both escaping by working on our quilts. So happy your new hip is treating you so well.

Congratulations on the PT and cane! On my total knee replacements, I despised my therapist (just plain stupid) on the first knee but loved the second knee therapist. I love the vibrancy of your quilt.

That’s so funny. We were in Nam de Mun freshmarket midday. Me, for the first time in ten+ years. Bought some strange and wonderful stuff.

The photos of you with your brother and with your son hold such sweetness and love; it leaps off the page and is such a story of family. So good to know that you continue to exceed in your recovery but also that you are wise not to push it. I can just see you with your sign on April 5th, at the Bridge, maybe even waving your cane as cars and people go by!

Here in New Mexico, at least 10 cities are holding marches and one city, in particular, has a name that is so fitting. The city that “stands out” for this march is named Truth or Consequences… We have also had several protests and some vandalism of Tesla dealerships.

Even in your wondrous cloth, I see a message: The cloth strip with the fish swimming on your colorful and wild quilt, feels like such an important note. I say wild only because I love the myriad of colors and patterns, how this is who we are, swimming against the tide of tyranny, with postcards and signs and marches and conversations.
