I listened to Cory Booker for a short while before my doctor’s appointment and then for a good long while later, stitching in the afternoon sun. I’m noticing how much better I feel. I’m noticing how much it matters for people in power to speak up.

Got quite a few “finishers” in the works. Antidotes to despair I suppose. Medicine against feeling powerless. One stitch at a time.

Trimming, binding, signing, and adding dowel sleeves. It always takes longer than I think.
Here are examples (below) from four recent series of digital collages. Almost all incorporate paper collage or photos of my own. If I weren’t feeling tongue-tied by national events I might have something to say about them but they can speak for themselves I guess.

Yes, building something balances the tearing apart. Glad u feel better.
In a somewhat literal way.
Dee~ Indeed and thanks to all standing up, asking questions and supporting him during this time.
Love looking at all of the prints on the fabrics you choose 🙂
Thanks Nancy. You should still be finding prints you sent me!
These are beautiful and Corey Booker, too, is elevating my spirit. Yes to Stitch by Stitch or Bird by Bird or in the garden Bed by Bed, though smaller.
Thanks Martha. Just made the rounds in the backyard. Mostly to pick up dog poop but also to see what’s poking through the soil. I’ll be able to bend over this season. And squat. Yeah!
Same. Tuesday was a heartening day. I listened for about twelve hours, writing posts and doing whatever needed to be done, with one ear at least on his passionate, truth-telling speech. I hope to someday be stitching while I listen. 🧵💙
brave man!
we were away for over a week and I ignored any kind of news, my husband kindly refrained from sharing whatever he read on his phone (I know this isn’t helpful in the long run but it felt very relaxing on a holiday)
The patchwork piece in third image caught my eye: the colours and composition work beautifully!
I hope your hip and stamina improve each day, ‘growing old’ is no mean feat, time -I’m told- heals😘
And we need more brave public figures. I really enjoyed the photos from your trip and glad that it was a haven from the news!
Hip still hurts (healing, not inflammation) and strength improves noticeably day to day.
