I slept from 6 to 7 pm. Earlier, I walked around the block by myself. I made a scrambled egg dish for dinner, which was edible, just. I went down and even up stairs the usual way. I bound another quilt. We went out for breakfast and paid $4.50 for a mug of coffee only slightly better than what they serve on an airplane. Together, we tackled a few shelves and the top of the basement fridge, throwing away lots of dried up fabric paints and setting aside vintage lunch boxes for sale later. News is next to unbearable.

Dee~ Such an real telling of an ordinary-extraordinary day. Comforting. Love the collage image, the lightness in it. Good luck with the lunchbox sales.

Your are one determined, strong woman, already navigating by yourself, and up and down stairs, etc., inspiring us all.

Our days are warming, in the 80’s after the cold, icy, dreary weather of last week. I take my cup of tea, latest book and sit outside, breathing in the air, listening to bird song, watching the apple tree that I thought had given up the ghost, green leaves and blossoms appearing, albeit a little late in the season. My husband, comes out, using his rollator to walk, he too, determined to get his strength back. Long process as he is 82 with long term ills but he, in his own way, is strong. The rollator has a middle part that converts to a seat and underneath, a zippered compartment for books, tissues, snacks, whatever is needed. He takes out a bottle of water, sits in the sun, catching some rays and we drift along, each in our own space yet together…news of the country never far away but for those minutes, the dismay and disbelief, stays in the distance.

Thank you for capturing that moment and sharing it. Nothing like a tree surprising you with a comeback! But more, the quiet companionship you describe moves me. Thank you.

So good to know of your impressive progress on the stairs, etc – physical and mental focus toward gaining strength of all sorts! At a time when we just want to rest, here we are fighting to strengthen our bodies, our families and friends and work to channel our exhausted anger into good energy, no we won’t wane, we will not despair. You bring hope, critical honesty with multiple perspectives that are from that positive Dee spunk – spunk I tend to depend on 🙂 no pressure 🙂 🙂
