Of course in addition to finishing some small quilts, I’m beginning some as well. The woven section of the yellow quilt was made ages ago, but the overall composition is new. The quilt on the right is made of a blanket-stitched moon created eons ago, a small rectangle of patchwork that is old and some new patchwork as well. The bunny has been hopping around for weeks.
It’s been so cold here — in the 30’s and raining. For now I’m glad the full dog walk circuit is out of reach because it’s so awful out.

Life goals: be the person that your dog looks at like this. Here, Finn sees Ken coming down the stairs.

Over on Instagram (at deeamallon) I describe some of the fabrics in detail — many are up cycled from garments.

Snowing here, confused.
We’ve had rain that WANTS to be snow.
We had that and it got it’s way.
Even the dog doesn’t like it!
😂
I have a pile of fabric squares etc and some black felt (for a bunny- not as sweet as yours). I have always loved the scrappiness of your work- rhymes with happiness.- so I’d best get to work … find some sky and a moon.
It’ll cheer you up. I guarantee it!
Oh! That bunny and moooooooon!!!
I hope I can do the rabbit justice when I stitch her down.
Love all, Dee. My mind is all moon rabbits.
Sounds like a writing prompt!
Looks like you’re having lots of fun … and healing well.
When I look at the glorious colors that you use in your quilts, I feel as if I am jumping into a bowl of confetti, color galore and fun as well. For cloth to be able to do that is magic! Earlier last week, I had turned to my cloth scraps to ease my mind and pinned what I call a little accordion cloth book, the folds in the cloth reveal some of my dyed scraps. My intention was to stitch over the weekend but the days got away from me and so I was going to get out needle and thread this morning but then I spotted my latest library book, Long Island by Irish author Colm Toibin, his sequel to his book Brooklyn so…cloth can wait, book can’t!
Curl up with a good book? Thread a needle and go? Tough choices!
Dee~ Oh man, adding that bunny is just the best!!! It really elevates the story of the cloth, leaving the viewer to wonder and create their own narrative. Your cloth bits are always so delightful.
And dear Finn, look at that punim! My sister’s family dog was like that w/ her husband when he got home from work…they would chase through the circular living area of the house in a burst of playfulness.
Enjoy the inside time and stay warm. Do you want to know that it is 80° here?!! Of course we will be paying for it come summer. ugh. Nancy
Thanks, Nancy. Since I typed this post, the sun has come out! Yeah! 80? A little hard to imagine.
