It’s Saturday. Cool air today is welcome.
The noise at the school (starting at 6:45) is not.
Woke to beeping trucks, that piercing tone made all the more annoying because studies have shown the sound doesn’t actually save lives.
Later, I watched in disbelief as they used a mini-bulldozer to lift and carry rubber mats that could easily have been carried by one of the two men waiting for its delivery under the swing set.
Blueberry scones in the oven. I will join the Saturday Newton Center protest later.
And so it goes.
I wonder if we are having one here in Brookline. I will have to check.
And yes, the cooler weather is so welcome. I thought I would die yesterday in the humidity.
The beeping is never ending. Now if I don’t hear it I wonder what is wrong. The other day I didn’t hear any workmen across the street and thought maybe ICE came and took them after lunch. Turns out they just ran out of bricks and went home for the rest of the day.
It is nearly a constant, that noise. And it travels for blocks and blocks. This was right next door so it was particularly aggravating.
Blueberry scones in the oven … now that sounds wonderful. I love a good scone and have tried more than a few times to make them myself .. only to be disappointed. Now I just make it my go to whenever we go out for a sneck.
My scones are a Cooks Illustrated recipe and sometimes they’re fabulous, sometimes they’re duds. I never really know why.

Dee~ Lots of goings on over there! We sometimes have delivery trucks in the next door parking lot that are left running and beeping for extended periods. Too much for my ears.

The cloth with a big bird to fly one away on, a precious dog – with a sweet tilt of the head (why is that head tilt so endearing?) and then later a lovely little bunny…scenes for everyone’s heart.
The morning glories!! Hope your protest goes well. We keep missing the ones on Sat. here. They are very small and end early – not exactly empowering or hopeful at times.

The protest was a little smaller than usual. Maybe because it was not yet again and also almost the last weekend of the summer? Lots of positive honking tho!
