Snapshots of Quilt WIP

Continuing with the Epstein quilt. Had a moment of considering machine-quilting the night sky — to get it done, to craft with an appropriate savagery — but the urge passed.

News as I type: “Trump is just straight up lying about the Strait of Hormuz.”

Mostly hand-stitching to reruns of The Great British Baking show. Seen them all before but the show fits the narrow band of what we can tolerate right now.

I decided to watch the finale of The Pitt even though I knew from comments from friends and online that it was going to be difficult.

When did I cry? Not listening to the conversations about suicide for some reason but this: watching Dr. Robby swaddle and hold Baby Jane Doe.

Did you watch the series? Did the finale make you cry?

Your quilts are astounding! The power and greed and fear, tightly bounded by the edges as if barely silenced. Wow. So good.

I love that show. I wanted to smack the MAHA mother with her no medical care crap, I cried when they were watching the fireworks. We always look at the fireworks with such joy and fun. But not this year we won’t. Our country is in ruins. And of course I sobbed in the end with the baby. I wonder if Dr. Robby will not go on his crazy trip and just take that cute baby in. Oh and I loved the Karaoke. Great finale.

The fireworks scene got me choked up too. There was no celebration in it, of course. And yeah, no sympathy for the Maha mother. Speculation about next season is fun. I could see Robby with that baby, especially after how he looked at Whitaker driving off with his found family.

Dee~ I totally understand making specific viewing choices these days. sigh.
I have never heard of this show, but we too don’t have cable or streaming services…so I just pick from what is free and available on you tube.
We have been watching a lot of Sidetrack Adventures, with mellow Steve, which lets me get out in ways I can’t right now.

The power of your sky! Yes, cried for baby holding, suicide conversation, and Duke trying to get him to promise to come back. Comforting show suggestion-The Great Pottery Throw Down. Like British Baking, but with clay.

Couldn’t help thinking about you Dee watching the finale .. that could not have been easy. But then I have to wonder what if anything comes easy for you these days. I want to tell you that I think you’re amazing sharing your days here … taking us along with you on this journey not one of us want to first hand experience. What I’m learning is that what ever happens in our lives tomorrow will come and we’ll get through it to experience another day and another one after that and another.

Yeah when Dr. Robby said, “I don’t want to be here anymore,” and couldn’t promise to Duke that he’d come back? Tough. I have to say, though, that shows with gun violence are worse. We used to watch a steady diet of police procedurals. Not so much now.
