Sale day one

Firmly ensconced in the Crap Out Zone starting new Swedish murder mystery (“Fallet”), but wanted to thank everyone for your good wishes and encouragement and also to give a quick report. Sales were pretty good, traffic fairly steady, but the really exciting thing was using my phone to take credit cards for the first time. And, it didn’t snow (like yesterday).

The clay work, by Pamela Schoenberg Reider, looked lovely all on its own and also paired nicely with my quilts (Instagram : @wonderingaboutclay).

What a great pairing! So glad you got traffic to support all your recent efforts. I’ve been in awe.

A belated thank you, Liz. I’ve done Newton Open Studios four other times in the house here and this was the best partnership, craft wise (and other wise, too, come to think of it).

Astoundingly beautiful work, and the displays make everything feel very own-able – which of course they are.

It was very cold but the sun came out and lots of friends showed up. Some just to be supportive and visit and many to be supportive and buy. It was worth the effort.

Thank you Els. That sun caught a lot of complements. I think because it’s so cheerful.

Thanks Nancy. I liked seeing some cloth on walls and some in windows. Also mixing old work and the new.

Yes, over a single weekend. The last time I did this I was quite a bit younger. I’m a little surprised how long it’s taking me to really get my energy back.

Pamela’s work really looked great, both on its own and together with the cloth.
