Plans for patio entertainment on. Then off. Rain storms swept through. Of course now, approaching the dinner hour, it is clearing.
No matter. Another super-focused day of writing under my belt.
A short walk with Finn and K after the second rain. A nearby cul de sac has the most beautiful garden.
It occurred to me while watering the garden yesterday, that we probably have never spent so many summer days at home before.
I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again: there is something very grounding about staying put. I don’t think it’s any accident that I have been able to work mornings and afternoons on my book. That has NEVER happened before.
Gosh your visiting spot in the yard is wonderful! So much greenery ❤️
I know what you mean about being home. While not at work this spring-summer, something that just doesn’t happen normally, I’ve gotten so much (and nothing much) done! What a treat.
That’s a neighbors garden! More pix of mine comin
good to hear your writing is going well!
It is such a relief!
I am noticing less concern for many things I would focus on before Covid. Today- clearing branches out from behind tomato boxes, one load of laundry, re-reading books I read years ago mixing and frying a plate full of zucchini fritters. No worries. No plans. No appointments. Enjoying Summer as I haven’t in years. Not listening to NEWS.
I love the no appointments part. I wish I was reading as much as you are, but I’m afraid a lot of my reading time is given over to the consumption of news. TV shows too. Just signed up for Britbox to be able to get a few new programs.
grounding … so many layers of meaning in these Covid times
Leave it to you to see the double play on word “grounding”. Hadn’t even occurred to me!
Your Grounded self is never still. How fortunate you are.
So so fortunate. I am grateful every day.
