Don’t love it. Or to be more specific, I don’t love the raw-edge, zig-zag-attached heart. It’s been buried for more than a decade. So chop and repatch or turn into a curtain? I don’t want to unpick the heart.
Sounds like a metaphor for something.

This one got chopped. Turned the bird section into a coaster. The rest? I don’t know.

(Photo-transferred image of the heavens onto silk).

Also found an almost-finished apron made out of linen and denim and a barely started indigo top.

Mostly today I worked on Turtles.

The pin board space next to it holds an ever-growing assortment of refuges.

I’ll end with two thoughts. One: friends really matter.
Two: it’s hard to write a second novel when the first one wasn’t exactly intentionally written until the very last part of the process.

Oh Dee! Don’t chop it up. It’s beautiful as is. The colors are great!
I love the colors too.
I had a board once….I made stuff once upon. time…now it’s just postcard sized things or perhaps 10 by 10 inches. square…I think sometimes the squares might get sew together and then…nope. I was out to see if I got mail and brought in an insect… changed the desktop calendar….feel like I’m in a spot of “just don’t care”
I get that feeling too. In particular regarding the volume of both finished and unfinished quilts in this house. What to do with them all when I’m just not into showing/selling?
Well, hell. The second one took my breath away…except for the background grid.
Totally agree with One
Confused by Two
But always enjoy your works in progress along with found long forgotten pieces. I think you ought to finish that indigo top … you’ll love it.
Have you ever thought of making tote bags with some of your smaller pieces .. I think they’d look very cool. I’ve been into making totes lately.
I’m responding to this on August 2nd, the day where in many cities, including some here in New Mexico, there will be protests, marches for Rage Against the Regime. So I sat and looked at your first photo, thought about your turtles and came up with this: Bedeck yourself in this wonderful cloth, green for Mother Earth, purple for valor and heart for kindness and strength. Take it to the streets carrying one of your turtle cloths for in many cultures turtles are symbols of longevity, wisdom and protection…we do not hide inside our shells, but do all we can to uphold Democracy.
The sign that I made in April for the first of the many protests, weathered snow, hail and rain, but this last bout of monsoon rain, crumbled it SO I made another sign, not as large, not planted in my large pot. It is affixed to one of my Kokopelli planters by our front door, away from the elements, where all who come to our door can see. it. Thought about changing the words on the sign to fit the many protest themes but in the end, those three words say it all, HANDS OFF DEMOCRACY.
I wish I’d held a HANDS OFF OUR DEMOCRACY sign in Newton Center for his morning. I think I would’ve gotten more responses. I was the only one there. People driving by had their AC on, windows closed. Only a couple thumbs up and one honk. One thank you. My sign (from two weeks ago) said: SCOTUS is an existential threat to the rule of law.” Justice Jackson
Dee~ The first one…a power cape? Filled with Heart ♥️!!
The second, cut up one – extra pieces sewn to cards for a letter writing campaign?
An apron, eh? Protest aprons for Women’s – Human rights…pockets for fliers and phrases added for attention grabbing. 😁
Love the started indigo shirt – the tiny bits of green, a spot that looks feather-like 🪶 I do so hope you finish it. And what is that bird peeking out?
Turtles…Yes! Love the blue one today…well and all of it. Your fabrics, so uniquely You! Still loving the bunny piece. And I see a leopard looking at me.
Maybe someone would want to handle the ‘selling’ end of things for you…or give aways?
So much life here!
Power cape! Now there’s an idea. We all need one don’t we? I might turn the grid sections into teeny villages. Then pair them with the looooonnnnnggggg ongoing global warming quilts chunks that are downstairs.
