This is the vertical Middle Passage quilt, after adding some cloth and rubber band resists to lower edge and dunking into indigo vat.
Our bathroom receives late afternoon sun – from the weekend.
It was such a beautiful day here. Since we abut an elementary school, all my activity out back this morning was accompanied by the sounds of children playing.
I was happy to spend some of such a glorious day outside with cloth, and raking, and taking a walk around Crystal Lake.
OH MY GRACIOUS! That Moon-Time is spectacular!
I think so tooooooooooo!!!
oh yes…that moon cloth…my mouth opened wide when i saw it. great choice of fabric to dip.
ALL are beauty FULL, but yes…i am imagining how happy you are with that
moonTime…just GREAT…but…again…will you find it hard to use other than
Whole?, As Is?…i would. maybe a curtain.
i received the Face today and will make marks on paper with my hand as
a Thank You. but wanted you to know it arrived.
love,
Brilliant idea to dip the bottom of that beautiful quilt in indigo! Wonderful weather and a clothesline–what more could one ask. Th clock piece is a winner too.
the clock fabric really came out well – thanks, guys… I think it will get inserted into the very large Global Warming piecing that needs some unifying color… I like the idea of a very literal reference to the fact that we are running out of time….
The surprise out back with the vat is what happens to fabrics with red dyes… more on that later.
Glad cloth arrived Grace! Hope the face isn’t too scary – it needs eyes. Well, it needs whatever it is you decide it needs.
my goodness: the Moon Time, wow….and the soft light in your bathroom
Waiting for the big reveal….I gasp so far 🙂
tomorrow – I promise!
Oh DeeDee, your photos have so much energy. I think you must have a lot of energy, too, to have created all this wonder. Moontime is fabulous. xo
Oh wow! Seriously Wow! Yes…that moon clock.
I tried to make another moon clock and it blurred – oh well. But I like this idea of selecting a section of a commercial print and blocking it from the dye.
