Hair cut, ferns, and deck

20140526-105632.jpgCut my hair on Thursday. Used a small fraction of the beauty salon savings to buy a pair of orange sandals. Wahoo!
IMG_9458Not sure what ‘the guys’ are up to — suffering from allergies, perhaps? Maybe they just don’t like my hair cut.
IMG_9463Yesterday, Ken and I used various utensils to scrape years worth of pollen, dirt, and maple tree droppings out of the cracks of our deck.Β  Moved grill to ground. This allowed us to slide table over and set out household plants in the corner.

It is so much more inviting!!Β  All done with intention to sit and relax for some spells this summer. Somehow the last two have not included much of that. Last year, Ken was gone much of June and then — wasn’t it last year? — we had some consecutive weeks of brutal heat.
IMG_9474Of course, there is more work to do. Bit by bit, right?Β  But, with lots of reading and grilling inbetween!

yes, I am amazing, aren’t I?! You should know it was a picture of your short hair that inspired the first version of this cut — about a year and a half ago, I think?

I wish you lived on this side of the world, Mo, so that I could give you some of these amazing ostrich ferns. I have an embarrassment of riches in the fern department!

I like your hair style! I am known to have come straight home from the salon to re-cut my hair shorter. I want it short, but am scared to let him do it short. Crazy. And I love your garden gates and the glimpses of gardens they lead into or out of …. oh, and the turtle gate-keepers. xo

Great hair cut, kudos to you! I often recut parts of my hair after having someone else do the major work, but I’ve never been brave enough to do the whole thing!

thanks so much for the feedback on my hair! it is not so daring once you’ve done it one time. And some cuts are better than others — but that’s true at the salon, too.
